I am using Active Directory 2003. Is there a way to update some fields of all users at once from a txt list. The fields for example Description, Street in address tab etc.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The simplest way is probably via a CSV import:

After that, there are third party tools. Also, Powershell or WScript scripting can be done to update the user attributes.

If you want to MODIFY data in tha AD I think the better choice would be LDIFDE tool, CSVDE is used mostly to import NEW data into AD (Introduction to CSVDE and LDIFDE).
For using LDIFDE see the article: Step-by-Step Guide to Bulk Import and Export to Active Directory

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

I do not want to add new user into Active Directory. I want to make bulk modification of attributes of Active Directory accounts which are already member of it this Active Directory.

Then the "right choice" would be LDIFDE.

Or, if you don't want to use LDIFDE to export data - modify "offline" - then reimporta data in AD, you may try to use an sample script from Microsoft TechNet Script Center Repository and in the Active Directory zone - User Account you could find some samples - one of them may be slightly modify to suit your needs: Update Address Information for All the Users in an OU.

I benefit from the experts comments. But we wrote a code special to update attributes in an ou. Program is reading the attribute value from sql db and writing to ad account in an ou.
