Project budget

Hi all,

I need to track the budget utilization in my project. We have a certain amount allocated to our projects which includes resourcing and other expenses. I want to calculate the allocated budget against the utilization.

Basically I want a GOOD excel template which tracks the allocated budget VS utilized and what is left on hand.

All your help will be highly appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I need only an excel file so that my managers can maintain it easily. I want a good template which helps me track the budget against the utilization.

Most of the files are for managing personal expenses. I want something for project based which clearly shows the budgeted, spent and what is left on hand.

Dont know if you are looking for free stuff or not,

This package is about $50 but does some nice things with graphs and visual display of budget vs.actual

Here is a free one as well. A little less polished, but it is free.

Excuse me, but that is the purpose of Baseline vs Actuals in MS Project - to show the budgetd (baseline), spent (Actuals), and what is left (remaining).   A cost table can be copied into Excel for sharing with those that do not have Excel.

I want to maintain details of 3 vendor who will incur expenses like airfare, fees and other types. These expenses might not be invoiced, invoiced but not paid and paid.

I need a good format so that my details are very clearly available to the management.

With project, you can create your own amount fields to show the progression from budgeted, to invoiced, etc.   Customize the cash flow forecast.   or simply copy the table and paste into excel for reporting.
