Samsung 2233RZ Monitor using as a TV to watch movies

im thinking to buy Samsung 2233RZ Monitor to watch 3D movies.
it has DVI input, and my player doesnt have DVI

my HD player has HDMI output
my first question is can i use HDMI to DVI converter and use this samsung monitor as a TV to watch movies.

my second question is, if i can watch movies, can i watch 3D movies as well? will full 3D effects?

or i will require a PC with NVIDIA 3d graphics card to watch 3D movies?

1)Yes, you can. DVI and HDMI are compatible, no adapter needed. It's just doing that you won't get sounds from HDMI.
2)Yes, as long as that movie support 3D and you have the right glass. Nothing more.  NVIDIA 3d graphics card not nessesary

I think you would need an adapter. Although DVI and HDMI offer the same image quality etc, the connection is different. HDMI being a 'flat' plug/socket and DVI being mulitple-pins.

@E-Z-PC: actually that connector does not convert anything. That's why it's cheap and you can use that connector for an HDMI source for DVI output and also DVI source to HDMI output. You cannot do same thing if it really converts the signal, for ex DVI-D-sub adapter. That's why i said like that.

The answer from Arabia vn is clear for me, so the comments are accepted and closed.

I understand it does not convert any signal. It was merely the shape/size of the connector that would need changing.
