Can't burn an .img file

I downloaded a firmware update from for my wireless bridge.
It is an .IMG file and I have tried every software suggested and cannot burn it to a cd or a virtual cd.
Here is the link to where I downloaded the file:
Specifically, I downloaded Version 3.0, with a date of 06/30/2006 and a firmware Ver.2.07.
Can anyone check and see if I am nuts?
I have burned many ISO files before and the software is super straightforward, so I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Also, I tried it on both a Vista 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit machine.
Thank you.

The firmware .IMG file is not for burning...   that is a firmware image file.  Linksys should have a utility on their website which will use that .IMG file to burn the new firmware in to the device.

Check their website for the firmware util and you should be all set.   But no, an .IMG file isn't really an image like you are thinking of one (not like an ISO)

Have you tried IMGBurn ?
Ok I checked the Linksys site... and it looks like you log in to your device, then there is an option to upgrade the firmware there.  You can point to the path where you saved the .IMG file, and it will upload it to your hardware device.

Hi, to upgrade de firmware of your device, you must download de file (.img) and then you must enter in you wireless bridge setup, look for the firmware update option, and then you will have a search button to find the file in the folder (were you download it).

If you download the file in other place (for example a friend´s pc) you should copy it just as a file, not as a CD image.
