"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi AbebeDemeke,
I'm going to assume that x,y,z,m, and n are alphanumeric, so I'll use a \w to represent that, but you can substitute it with \d for digits or whatever else you want.  Now here is the regex:

\A\w{2}\.\w\.\w{3}\.\w{3}\:\w{2}\z

\A - beginning of string
\z - end of string

Hope this helps.

I'd also recommend downloading expresso, it's an .NET application that is very useful for testing out regular expressions:
