CUCME Speed dials
Hi Everyone,
I have just deployed a 2801 CUCME at a remote location. All phones at the site are 7975 - some of these phones have 7916 expansion modules attached.
Everything went reasonably smooth with the deployment. However, when one of my usuers went to configure his speed dials he found that he could not configure any more than 42 speed dials on his phone. He has two attached 7616 modules on his phone. When I look at the phone in the web GUI it shows that he has a maximum of 55 possible speed dials but for some reason only 42 show up on his phone. I tried entering the speed dials on his phone via the CLI but still no success. I then tried upgrading the phone firmware but still no success. The firmware is as follows
App Load ID jar75sccp.8-4-1-23.sbn
Boot Load ID tnp75.8-3-4-16BN01.bin
Version SCCP75.8-4-2S
Expansion Module 1 B016-1-0-2SR1
Expansion Module 2 B016-1-0-2SR1
I have also rest the phone back to factory default and re-added the expansion modules but still no success.
Here are the details of my Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express:
OS Description Cisco Internetwork Operating System
Cisco IOS (tm) C2801
Cisco IOS Software C2801-SPSERVICESK9-M
Software Version 12.4(24)T / CME 7.1
Feature Package IP|FIREWALL|VOICE|PLUS|SSH |3DE
GUI Version 7.1.0.0 (Compatible with IOS 12.4(24)T)
I wondered if anyone else had come across this problem and found a resolution. Or have I missed something I.E wrong IOS version?
All phones are SCCP none are using SIP.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
TC

Hi thanks for your help - much appreciated.
At the moment I cleared all the speed dials off the ephone - however - I re added some this morning via the GUI. When I checked the GUI it only shows details for speed dials 8 and 9. However, when I check the command line it displays the following. However, on the phone it displays all the speed dials except the ones that should be displayed when I press the second button on the second 7916 expansion module.

I think the last usable number is 53 for the speed-dials
Try putting the last two in as 52 and 53 and see what you get.
I've got something similar where I have a 7965 with 2x7916's and it took a while with trial and error because I used BLF instead of regular speed-dials for internal numbers, plus some regular speed-dials to external numbers, plus all 6 buttons for incoming. I came out looking something like this:
Buttons 1-6 on the phone
speed-dials 1-2 are at top of module 1
blf 1 = button 3 on page1
blf 48 = last button, page 2, module 2

Hi again,
Once more thanks for youre help.
The 7975 has 8 line buttons as opposed to the 7965. The 7916s have 24 speed dials so in total I have 48 + 7 speed dials available - total being 55. Certainly in the GUI it displays 55. However, when I add entries via the GUI or command line once i get past 42 speed dials they just dont seem to display on the phone?
As per usual - thanks for your help.
