Adding Chinese email addresses to my English Exchange 2007 Cluster

We are acquiring a Chinese firm.  They will need email addresses in both English and Chinese.  How do I go about accomplishing that server-side?  Client side I imagine they are covered as they have the language packs loaded.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think you will need to install chinese language pack on the server this will enable you to type and write email addresses in chinese as well as sending and receiving emails in chinese

kblumenAuthor Commented:
I don't follow what you mean by that last statement.  Could you please clarify?

Thanks for your time.

if you are running english on your servers, suppose that you want to type in french, then you install the french language and then add the keyboard language, do the same for the chinese

kblumenAuthor Commented:
ah ok.. How do you add the keyboard language?

kblumenAuthor Commented:
How will I switch from English to Chinese when I need to type in Chinese.  Have you done this before?

BusbarSolutions ArchitectCommented:
I have done this in other language but not chinese, you will switch using the alt+shift normally, but I don't know how you will type in chinese, you will have to ask your new partners :D

No worries. Ok so that is the only thing I need to do? On every DC and exchange server?
I'm trying to get a list of what i need to install on each server and the media/download I will need for each. Thanks for all you help to date.

Yes, make sure that you install the language on the servers so the GAL sorted and displayed correctly

ok that (comment# 32353801) only sounds like one thing to do.  What about the statement you made:

"suppose that you want to type in french, then you install the french language and then add the keyboard language"

That sounds like two steps?  Could you please clarify?  Also out of 1000 users, I only have 10 requiring the Chinese email addresses.  Will the rest of my users see anything different on their workstations?  Only 10 will have the Chinese language pack loaded on their windows XP workstations.

Hi,
you will need to install the chinese as I said on DCs and Exchange.
if you want to create email address in chinese yes there is another step which is installing chinese keyboard on the Exchange server from the control panel, regional settings, keyboard, this will give you the ability to type in chinese and create email address in chinese

kblumenAuthor Commented:
Ok then I now understand one step, how to add the keyboard via the control panel on exchange.
How do I complete the other step, "install Chinese Language on DCs and Exchange"?  What media or download do I use?
0
BusbarSolutions ArchitectCommented:
step1: you will go to regional settings and install eastern language there should be chinese, thai..etc there should be no media required.
step2: add the chinese keyboard from the keyboards tab in the regional settings.
here is step by step
