Make font bold

In this loop, i just want to make data that displays date bold. what i have doesnt work..it displays the actual text font bold...

How can i do this?

 foreach (Notes an in notes)
        {
            sb.AppendLine("<font bold>" + an.updateDate.ToString() + "</font>");
            sb.AppendLine(an.notes);
           
        }

        txtNotes.Text = sb.ToString();

txtNotes.Font.Bold = true;

sb.AppendLine("<font bold>" + an.updateDate.ToString() + "</font>");
sb.AppendLine(an.notes);

you can assign above to label

If lblNotes is Label, then HTML will be displayed.
lblNotes.Text = sb.ToString();

If txtNotes is a textbox then that isn't going to work. Textboxes do not support word-by-word formatting.

If you want to format specific parts of the text then you will need to display your text by some other means such as in a DIV or TABLE.

btw, as mentioned, the line:

txtNotes.Text = sb.ToString();

may not work in this case. try use a DIV (set runat="server" with an ID) instead (as carl_tawn suggested above)
