Read Receipt to Originator of a Distribution Group

In an Exchange 2007 environment:

Is it possible to receive a read receipt or delivery receipt when sending as/from a distribution group? I found in Exchange 2003 KB that it is not possible to receive RR and DR this way as the option to send delivery reports to originator or owner only means to send NDR but I can't find something related Exchange 2007. If you google Distribution Group Read Receipt Exchange 2007 there isn't much to write home about...

Thank you for your help and hope this will help others too.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Consider the following one needs to receive a read receipt:

1) Must have a mailbox

2) This Mailbox must be accessible

The quick and easy answer is no, as a distribution group is not a physical mailbox.
Its simply an email address which is used to forward on messages to the members.
