WINS Setup

I will Try to explain as best i can....

I Have 3 Sites, A< B< C<

Sites A has 2-2003 Domain Controllers and 1-2008 Server with Hyper-V installed. In this 2008 Box i have a Virtual Machine Running 2008 DC...will call these Servers A1 and A2...Server A1 holds all FSMO Roles...A2 is our main File Server...Server 2008 DC in Virtal Machine we will call VM2008

Site B has 1-2008 DC running on Box...will call this Server B1...this is in a totally different site in AD Sites and Services..this house all finacial applications...Different subnet also from all sites....

Site C ...just exists...NO DC...

All Sites are connected by a MPLS Circuit...
All these machines are DC, GC, WINS...
All Sites are on Different Subnets...
ALL Servers Running WINS....

was wondering how wins should be setup the best...right now....Server A1 is pushing updates from the other 3 Servers and the other 3 Servers are pulling from A1....does this sound right or should it be setup another way.....please suggest way you think it should be and reason as to why or why not.....thanks,,,,

how are the clients configured to use wins?

For example, if the clients are just pointing to Server A1, then your setup it Ok...  However, if your clients point to the other two WINS server, I would configure both PUSH and PULL replication on all three...

the reason is because clients may be registering with server b1 (for example), and without pushing its database to server A1, the records will not exist in A1... clients won't be able to find all computers...

From a tCP/IP properties prospective, only the first WINS server listed is used by the client... (unless the first one listed goes offline, the client won't connect to the other ones listed... therfore, you need to make sure your databases are completely replicated...

yes there are 2 wins servers in settings on client computers....so you are telling me that i should go to each Wins server and under replication partner, it should say push/pull....correct or not?
