OR / AND / NOT in node selection

HI All,

I would like to learn how I can create a single xpath statement that combines 2 or more xpath statements with as goal to exclude the result of the combined xpath statement.

the 2 patterns that may not be present the result are

(column nodes having a uniqueidentifier type attribute)
//Column[@type='uniqueidentifier']

and

(Column nodes that have a IdColumn descendant)
//Column[.//IdColumn]

So basicly I would like to select all COlumn nodes as long they do not have a type attribute with value uniqueidentifier and they dont have an IdColumn descendant node

Any Ideas?
