Recognize Text OCR doesn't work anymore in my Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional

As far as I can tell, nothing about the pc has changed.  Running Win XP with all the latest service packs and updates.  This function was working all along and then it stopped.  My version of Adobe is upgraded from version 4 and I am not excited about locating the cd's and removing and re-installing all of the components.  I have already run a repair from Acrobat Professional and nothing changed.  

Has anyone had this issue before?  Is there a solution besides completely uninstalling and re-installing all versions of the application?

We replaced it with PDF Converter Pro version 6, as the version 7 of Adobe Acrobat will soon be archaic.

Maybe it will help you somehow.

Also you might have installed some software that is is conflict with your OCR function. Or you have uninstalled something. There could be a lot of reasons why this is happening, these being a few of them.

Anyway if nothing helps you, you will have to reinstall it. From my point of view, a fully working software is always better than a partial fixed or a patched one.

I am guessing also that re-installing the entire Application may have worked, but since it was an upgrade from version 4 and you have to start there to get 7 on top of it - way too much work.  And Adobe Acrobat is too expensive if PDF Converter Pro can do the same things.
