mysql config files and logs

I have MySql installed under Ubuntu.

The config files are in /etc/mysql, right?

# cd /etc/mysql/
# ls -ltr
total 16
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3632 2009-10-07 17:44 my.cnf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1198 2009-10-07 17:44 debian-start
-rw------- 1 root root  333 2009-12-27 01:29 debian.cnf
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2010-02-10 18:33 conf.d

Are they these ones?

What about the log files?

Thanks in advance.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I have that folder but there aren't any files.

I have tried to stop MySql and see if there was any log...

Do I have to configure something to have a log?
Fabio MarzoccaFreelancerCommented:
You need to edit /etc/mysql/my.cnf, enabling log levels depending on what you need to log
lulonAuthor Commented:
Is it this?

#general_log_file        = /var/log/mysql/mysql.log
#general_log             = 1

What level should I set there? a low level is enough
Fabio MarzoccaFreelancerCommented:
Yes. Remove the '#' at the beginning of the line and restart mysql
