Thank you that did the trick. &nbsp;As soon as I rebooted the PC it discovered the printer &amp;&nbsp;loaded the driver.

I have an HP Laserjet 4200DTN on LPT1 of a Windows 7 PC. &nbsp;The internal network card went bad and I've had it connected parallel ever since. &nbsp;It works fine on a Windows XP SP3 PC. &nbsp;<br />
Cannot get a test page out of this setup. &nbsp;Installed the driver from HP's website.<br />

The printer icon gets a yellow shield the instant I try to print a test page.<br />
Tried a Windows Update from the printer install window and selected 4200/4300 series. &nbsp;same result. <br />
Also tried to use the Universal Printer Driver. &nbsp;This creates a separate icon that is associated with nothing. &nbsp;During installation it said it could be assigned to a printer.<br />
In device manager there are only COM ports 1 &amp;&nbsp;2 no LPT ports.<br />
