Create Alias in DB2SSDRIVER.CFG

I've created a ODBC connection to a DB2 database using the Configuration Assistant. (I'm importing data from DB2 into SQL Server 2005).

In SQL Server, I can successfully import data using the .Net Framework Data Provider for ODBC by writing an SQL statement.

When I try to using the IBM OLE DB Provider for DB2 - CL as the data source, it indicates that my database alias name cannot be found in the DB2DSDRIVER.CFG (error SQL 1531N).  The alias name I'm using is the same as the alias name on the connection I've established in the Configuration Assistant.

Is there something I need to do to add the connection from the Configuration Assistant to the DB2DSDriver.cfg file?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. you can find detailed instructions on how to edit this file here

basically, you can run the db2dsdcfgfill command on your client and it should automatically add all the cataloged databases to the configuration file
