Cannot find drivers after installing postgresql on windows 7 64bit

A consultant installed a linux box about 4 years ago and showed me how to connect XP pro machines to it - mainly so that MS Access can see the tables that are on the linux box.

But, the instructions do not seem to work for Windows 7 64bit pro. Here is what I did

1. Downloaded and installed postgresql 8.4
2. I went to windows administrative tools > Data Sources (ODBC) > system DSN > drivers
For some reason I do not see a postgresql driver.  In fact, I only see the following two drivers on Win7 whereas XP showed about 30 drivers.

SQL Native Client
SQL Server

Hope someone can help

News since first post:
3. All Programs > PosgreSQL 8.4 > Application stack builder > PosgreSQL 8.4 on port 5432 > Database Drivers > PostgreSQL v08.04.0200-1

I downloaded and installed that.  Still no drivers show up.

HELP.

You need to install an ODBC driver, first. However, there is no official ODBC driver for Win7/64bit available. If you want to use one that was created by a Postgres community member, you can find it here:

http://code.google.com/p/visionmap/wiki/psqlODBC

If you decide to install it, I recommend checking the Postgres pages for updates on the official driver and updating as soon as it becomes available.

Thanks for that link, it really saved me.  But, I ignored the hard part about building my own version.

Instead I used an msi version of 8.3 which worked fine, so to keep consistent with other computers, I used it instead of the 8.4 version.

But, neither 8.3 nor 8.4 integrates into with Windows 7 adminstrative tools.  Instead, I had to run the postgresql version of administrative tools which is nearly identical to the Windows 7 version except it showed all the drivers.  It is stored at  "C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe".

(The syswow64 version did not seem to work)

I stared to install ODBC Driver for Windows 7 (64Bit) from the msi-Distribution. When started to do configure ODBC-Driver as Datasource i did not find them shown in the list. --> Solution from web-search ...

There are two copies of odbcad32.exe on Windows Vista x64, one is stored at c:\windows\system32\ and one is stored at c:\windows\syswow64\. You need to run c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe to have access for all other ODBC drivers.

This works as expected for me .... no special software needed !!!

Ooops, my eyes were crossed when I said I to use "C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe"

The correct version to run is "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe"
