Cisco IP Communicator - how to customize the background image?
I was looking at this IP Communicator guide: http://www.dartmouth.edu/comp/soft-comp/software/downloads/windows/IPCUserGuide.pdf On p. 39 it gives you the basic information how a user can change the graphic for the background image. However when I press that menu sequence I am only presented on image from which to choose. How do you control what images are available for the end user to choose from and how to you change the default image that shows up in their IP Communicator? Thank-you.

i would assume the steps would be the same for changing backgrounds on ip phones
you'd have to upload your background via TFTP in a special format & dimension (png) and change the xml file
here's the guide

For my 7965G phones I have the image coming up fine. On the CME router the following config seems to get the 7965G the png bitmap.:
tftp-server flash:Desktops/320x212x16/ planedispl ay.png
tftp-server flash:Desktops/320x212x16/ TN-planedi splay.png
tftp-server flash:Desktops/320x212x16/ List.xml
telephony-service
cnf-file location flash:
load 7965 SCCP45.8-2-2S
Where I'm still unclear on is what commands in CME must I add for a registering IP Communicator to pick up the desired bitmap file?

what the phone does when it registers is look at the list.xml file to see what available backgrounds there are.. there really isn't a command for that
you may want to run create cnf in telephony-service to see if it helps
reboot your phone
most times when your bg doesn't come up is when the phone is not looking at the correct list.xml

So how do you get the phone to look at the correct list.xml?
