File sharing in Windows Server 2008 Enterprise witn XP in workgroup environment

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise is member of workgroup.  I can not access the shared folder in the server from XP machines. But i can access from another computer which is Windows Server 2003 Server (in same workgroup).

I google it and found many people are there same as me.  But I could find the solution yet.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

A silly old fashion way to do it would be to create the same local users (and passwords) on all machines and the server.

1. Make sure all machines are in the same workgroup.
2. Make sure file sharing is turned on in the network and sharing center on the 2008 server.
3. Turn off password protected sharing in network and sharing center on the 2008 server

2008 will not allow you to browse over to it without first authenticating...  like start --> run  \\servername\  <enter>

You need to authenticate ...  the way you do this is by mapping a drive and using a username and password...

can you try this from a workstation?.
