File sharing in Windows Server 2008 Enterprise witn XP in workgroup environment

Windows Server 2008 Enterprise is member of workgroup.  I can not access the shared folder in the server from XP machines. But i can access from another computer which is Windows Server 2003 Server (in same workgroup).

I google it and found many people are there same as me.  But I could find the solution yet.

can you check two machine LAN segment to see they have same IP address range? also, check on firewall as well.
2008 will not allow you to browse over to it without first authenticating...  like start --> run  \\servername\  <enter>

You need to authenticate ...  the way you do this is by mapping a drive and using a username and password...

can you try this from a workstation?.
