Can not get IP Sec working ike_sa_failed

Hi!

I am trying to set up a IP Sec Tunnel between a D-Link DFL 210 and a D-Link DFL 800. Authenticating with Pre-shared key. But the tunnel wont go up running. In the log I find this:

2010-04-28
12:52:33       Warning       IPSEC

I have a very similiar configuration running fine from another office. Only difference is that it's a slightly older DFL 210 and this problematic one is behind a Lan.

First question : what does this error message mean more exactly? Next : can someone guide me to correct my settings?

VPN is actually very easy to troubleshoot, if you are looking at the right area.

Divide vpn config in any device into the following sections and compare with the peer, it solves everytime.

1. Layer1 properties.
2. Layer 2 properties
3. Interesting traffic
4. Natting.
5. Route to peer. (not applicable in your case, I think)
6. Return route. (also not applicable in your case probably)

I am not a dlink expert, but whatever your problem is lie in the above areas due to some mismatch somewhere. Check every line/config relating to them.

Thanks,
