ISA Server 2004 and Windows Server 2008 Compatibility

We have an ISA server 2004 system and a Windows Server 2008 Standard machine running the firewall client for ISA server 2004.

The Windows Server 2008 machine reports that 'Firewall Client for ISA Server 2004 has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows'. Does anyone know what this compatibility issue is?

I know that Microsoft say that ISA Server 2004 is not supported on Windows Server 2008 clients but they don't say why. Our 2008 machine is hanging regularly and I would like to know if that's related to the firewall client for ISA server 2004.

Unfortunately we don't have any authorisation to disable it. However we replaced the server with one running Windows Server 2003 and all the problems went away. I think it's safe to say that there are major issues between Server 2008 and ISA 2004.

I am not sure why Microsoft is not telling the truth but you can find whole list here which is supported http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948680.
