Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect
I get "Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect" when backing up etc.
I have a 2 server Active Directory network... the administrator profile became corrupt on one of the servers... I had to recreate....I have been getting the message above ever since....AD works, just intermitent problems.

Doing initial required tests
Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\MY SERVER
Starting test: Connectivity
The host f7bf16c6-6dee-47e1-98f3-75 b38db59d4c ._msdcs.my domain.com could not be resolved to an IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc
Although the Guid DNS name
(f7bf16c6-6dee-47e1-98f3-7 5b38db59d4 c._msdcs.M YDOMAIN) couldn't
be resolved, the server name (MYSERVER.MYDOMAIN) resolved to the
IP address (10.1.1.125) and was pingable. Check that the IP address
is registered correctly with the DNS server.

DCDIAG is a good test. It is saying there is a problem with DNS server. Did you check it for any problems? Do you need help with that?

yes ... How do I check DNS for Problems.... I found this in the DNS event viewer
The DNS server was unable to open the Active Directory. This DNS server is configured to use directory service information and can not operate without access to the directory. The DNS server will wait for the directory to start. If the DNS server is started but the appropriate event has not been logged, then the DNS server is still waiting for the directory to start.

delete complete msdcs folder & restart netlogon & dns service it will be recreated.
Yes do that. You can also uinstall DNS Service, restart server and then again reinstall DNS services and then configure your DNS. Set SOA as the IP of your server and also check the name server tab.
Don uninstall dns it will delete all the host record which includes manually created record, except manually created record other records will be recreated on netlogon service restart or machine restart on registering service.
Only delete msdcs folder.
