Seeing BEA-001112 error when testing connection to db

I am seeing an intermittent error like this:
<04-Apr-2010 06:19:29 o'clock BST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "select count(*) from person" set up for pool "realm1tx" failed with exception: "javax.transaction.xa.XAException: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to enlist:An exception occurred during the DBComms.receive method. Operation:Software caused connection abort: recv failed. Context:(99) [Thread[[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '1' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)',5,Pooled Threads], IO:7eaca, Dbc:79d5d]. PktNum:0. TotalReceived:0. PktSize:4,096.".>

Any idea why this is happening?

Please advise

Thanks

What is your JDBC driver version.

It means there has been some sort of failure of the socket between
the oracle driver and DBMS. WL caught it and made a new connection
for you.

This error also sometimes comes for old ojdbc14.jar file and sometimes for network issues/latency and You could try checking the DBMS error log to see if there's anything
indicating a DBMS problem at that time. you can try to upgrade your JDBC driver to new version.
