V79-57344-33938 backup exec error

Just installed Symantec Backup Exec 11d and a tape drive on a server.  I am able to backup local data to the tape drive but I get the error V79-57344-33938 when I attempt a SQL backup to tape.  When I create a new backup and test the credentials it says successful.  I am running MSSQL 2000.  Any thoughts?

Rebooting the server fixed this.  Thank you.

Backup Exec is a bit quirky and you have to read some subtle signs :)

This post experienced the same problem as you did

http://aka-community.symantec.com/connect/forums/backup-exec-10d-cannot-backup-sql-2000-error-v-79-57344-33938

Here are also possible solutions from symantec as to why this happens:

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/273360.htm

But can you paste the log from the backup, maybe there is a clue as to why it happens.

I havn't gotten the opportunity to reboot the server since I've installed BE11d (users have been connected to it all day), so I am planning on rebooting it tonight.  Maybe this will fix it......
