I have started to conver our sql 2000 DTS packages to sql 2005 ssis packages.
I have been trying to execute them using the new command dtexec but I keep getting a
crazy error about Cannot find "CurrentVersion" value for component ...The current version for
the component cannot be located.  This error occurs if the component has not set its registry
information to contain the CurrentVersion value in the DTSInfo section...

I realized that we did not install Integrated Services on the server.  Is this required to run dtexec
from the command line.  I'm setting up a Job to run the dtsx file.  I need to confirm only because
our IT department will want proof that Integrated Services needs to be installed on the server.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You are using the 2000 version of dtexec and you need to use the newer version to support the SSIS packages.  Plus if you converted the packages to 2005 some of the objects/code may not be supported in the 2000 version so you would have to install the Integrated Services on the server to support these updates/changes.

Thanks for the response,

Just to confirm, I assume then that our IT staff will need to install integraded services
on the server because I currently only see /Micrsoft SQL Server/80/ and /90/, not /100/?
