Epson GT2500 Plus Scanner Produce Yellow Line When Scanned

When scanning a document, there's a yellow thick line that goes down the side of page.

Tried: new cables, restart scanner, re-install latest driver and application.

I would say that the mirror on the scanner head or the underside of the platen glass (or the read head itself, depends on the model) need cleaning.
Or it could be the lamp, or that the carriage is misaligned.
I would check in that order.

I thought it was hardware too, but this was not the case.  Scanning using the Epson application (Epson Scan) produces the yellow stripe.  Scanning using Adobe Acrobat Professional produces a perfect scan .  I believe the Acrobat uses the twain driver.

I am assuming the problem is related to the Epson native driver.  But, un-installing and re-installing did not fix it. I don't know how to remove the native Epson driver.
Is there any sort of calibration setting in the Epson driver?
I have seen similar issues with an uncalibrated canon scanner.
Also oddly enough, trying an OLDER driver may work.
Sometimes newer drivers require newer firmware.

There is no calibration function for this scanner.  I am looking for the older driver, but cannot locate one.  Right now, I sent an email to Epson trying to get an older driver.
Question has a verified solution.
