Increase 3G signal at house

Hi Experts.  I have found that my house my be right on the spot where the 3G coverage strength depends on whether a cow is standing in the wrong spot or the clouds block my signal.  For what ever reason, while at my house, my 3G signal on my iPhone goes in and out.  So, after several Google/Bing searches, I thought I would ask if anyone has found a way to boost the 3G signal at their house/office/etc.

Does the MicroCell is really make that much difference?  Worth the cost?

Thanks in advance for the help.

samiam41,

The micro or femtocell CAN make a difference, provided you have broadband service. I have a client who didn't have any service in their residence (only in their driveway), but once they added the femtocell, they had it all over their house.

However, all services are not the same. I know Verizon's original femtocell did not support data services, only voice - I am not sure if this is still the case. Sprint and AT&T do support 3G service.

MicroCell makes all the difference. It might be your own choice, and will definitely work to better your 3G signal. I use it myself, because my area is crap and can't get 3G reception properly either.

Just did some searching and the MicroCell isn't available for my area!  Did either of you check the AT&T site to see if the microcell was available in your area prior to ordering?  I wonder why it isn't available in my area and whether it would still work....

Great work guys.  I will start looking for one of these devices as I am growing more frustrated at having to stand by or near a window to get 3G coverage rather then E coverage at the middle of the house.

I appreciate your suggestions and look forward to working with you in the near future.

Aaron
