I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Install Notes on the 2nd PC, then remove the data directory and copy the data directory from the old pc to the new one in the same place. Then start Notes.

Notes does not install some sort of licence, so don't worry about that.

Actually, I would recommend it the other way around.
1. copy the datadirectory to the other pc.  Put it where you want the datadirectory to be.
2. copy the notes.ini to the new pc, and put it in where you want the program directory to be.
3. edit the notes.ini on the new pc and make sure th directory references are OK.
4. make a backup in cas you need to start over.
5. install the notes client, making sure you specify the program directory and the data directory as above.

This way, you can also upgrade to a new version without overwriting the new templates with old ones

The Lotus notes directory was transferred over to the new machine but it didn't transfer any of my IMAP accounts over with it.

This meant setting up 15 individual accounts again  on Lotus. :(

odd, if the directory was transferd entirely, the account documents in the names.nsf should hav gone with it.  although those documents are encrypted for the user setting them up, so you need the user-id with wich you created those documents to have access to them, or a recertified copy of them.

If you were issued a newly created user ID, than you would not have access to those documents.

Still, if you would have responded properly we could have probably devised a way to help you.
