setting up roaming user profiles
I am setting up new users on a new domain. I would like to have Roaming user profiles. I have setup the users in AD, and set their profiles to a specific folder on the server. Working fine.
I would like for them to have the same desktop settings, and IE shortcuts, etc... at whatever pc they log into. When I log them on one pc, change the background, log off and log into a second one then the background and settings are totally different.
I am using windows server 2008.

yea, I place the path \\server\profiles\%usernam e% in the field, and when logged on, the path creates a folder successfully with settings contained within.
Then when logging into the domain from a different computer, the changes are not transferred from computer to computer.

I see what will have to be done, but there are several network computers out there that I would have to do this on, since the computers would remain the same, but the domain server would be new. I guess I am more concerned about making sure their home folder, maybe their desktop, and possibly their email is the same. I guess in that situation, you would be looking at a virtual desktop on the server for each user..
I am not ready to do that, but I would like to have the same home folder when they click on "MY DOCUMENTS" no matter what computer they log into.
Is there a better way of doing that other then setting their HOME FOLDER path?
