Exchange ActiveSync stopped working for some devices

We are in the process of moving mailboxes to a new storage group on a new SAN. Things started off OK, but we have run into major problems with users who are syncing mobile devices to the server. These devices are mostly iPhones. I have tried:
-deleting the account on the phone and re-adding it
-removing Exchange attributes then reconnecting mailbox
-deleting device from mobile admin
-increase firewall timeout on HTTPS

Nothing is working so far. Please post any suggestions, if you have them.

This: https://store.accessmylan.com/main/diagnostic-tools is a handy tool for testing ActiveSync setups to determine if there are any server side issues. Can also be tested from the iPhone itself.

One of the links in the accepted solution mentioned PureMessage. That is what we use for scanning on Exchange. I had to restart some PureMessage services for it to figure out that we had new storage groups.
