Access Denied after restoring sites for SharePoint 2007

I had to restore sites after a database move.  They moved our databases to a new server with a new name.  I wound up having to restore the sites with backups that I had taken with stsadm, after creating new web apps, etc.  Even though I'm a farm admin, site collection admin, etc.  I get access denied when going to some of the sites.  I can, however, get to other pages in the site.  Just not the main page.

In Central Administration page have you checked site collection Administrator Id? It may have old Id from where you taken the backup. Change that. Refer below link:

Unfortunately, the setsitelock didn't help, nor the site collection admin setting.  I can get into the settings page, permissions etc, but none of the doc libraries, lists or the main page of the site.

Where can I get good instruction on moving to a new database server with a new name?  That's what I had to do and then not everything worked.  So I basically reinstalled SharePoint pointing it to the new server and recreated the web sites, restoring from stsadm backups.  I also had to make sure and reset permissions in sql server after the move.
