Much of this is covered in the Lenovo link, and between it and the Thinkwiki link, there is a good chance here that the USB has a hardware problem. I found the USB 2 in my own T41 to be very reliable.<br />

My IBM Thinkpad T41 is giving me a pop message when I plug my USB device in stating that it needs to be connected to a High Speed USB port. &nbsp;The high speed USB port is present in the device manager but is not one of the Root Hubs, How to I fix this?

IBM Thinkpad T41  USB only using 1.0 need to use 2.0
