safari browser displaying random white space around site

hello,
I have a site that I have just worked on. On the project pages, if you view in Safari and hit refresh a few times, the browser adds some random white areas above and below the site (see attached screenshot). Any ideas why?

Try adding a rule to your CSS style sheet that sets the background colour of HTML to the same as your BODY.

In your CSS you have the background-color of body set to black (#000000). Add the following

html {
 background-color: #000000;
}

Also, as a side note, your entire left hand menu doesn't seem to show at all in Opera (on a WinXP PC)

In your CSS rule for #content try changing position:absolute to position:relative
