Change share permission on printer
I need to change share permission on a shared printer. Currently when I do a net share <printername> I get the below permissions:
Permission
BUILTIN\Administrators, FULL
CREATOR OWNER, FULL
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, FULL
BUILTIN\Users, FULL
I need to give BUILTIN\Users READ permissions and not FULL. How would I achieve this?

On the print server go to your printer then right click and go to printer properties. You should see a security tab. You can adjust users here.

I have done that and gave users read permissions, but when I do the net share <printername>, the share permissions are set to FULL.
What kind of computer is this on? XP? Server?
ASKER
Server 2003
under the sharing tab provide the permission to user as READ.
Are you running active directory? If you are on the windows 2003 server you need to add "domain users" and add read to that group for the printer under the security tab.
