Hi All

I have an ongoing issue with VMware player.  I have a number of VM's created in Virtual PC 2007, along with .vmc files.

I want to import these virtual machines into VMWare player using the "open a virtual machine" option and browsing in the .vmc files.

Each time I do this I get the following message:-

"vmware player failed to open virtual machine failed to query source for information"

VMWare player is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Player

The VHDS are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VPCS

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit editon if this helps.

Any ideas as its urgent?

Cheers

Virtual PC VMs cannot be directly imported into VMware Player.
You have to use VMware vConverter v4.0 to convert the VM Format from Virtual PC to VMware Player.
vConverter Download Link

As arunraju said...

vConverter will resolve your problem here
mart0036 : No offense, but just concurring with the previous poster with no additional suggestions / points is worthless IMHO.

I have awarded the points to Arunraju solely, as his was the first and correct solution.

Thanks for the help
