Exchange 2003 Meeting Reminders from deleted User - how to remove?

I'm running Microsoft Exchange 2003 with Active Directory.  A user quit several months ago and was deleted from AD and their Exchange mailbox purged from the store.  Now I have found out that reminders for the meetings that this person was the Organizer of are still popping up in Outlook for the users that were invited.  How can I delete those meetings?

Take a look at this social technet form. It appears that if the account and mailbox is gone from the original organizer you will have to send out an email to everyone part of this meeting request and manually have them delete it from their calendar.
