How to run SQL Server 2000 DTS packages from SQL Server 2005 Agent Job?

Last Modified: 2013-11-30

I've migrated our SQL Server 2000 DTS packages to our SQL Server 2005.  I'm trying to setup a SQL Server Agent job to run these packages. I found some info from this URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms139805(SQL.90).aspx.  In the Job Step properties, I used Operating system (cmdExec) type.  For the command, I need to create the command line to paste it into the job step.  It says in the URL, that I can use Execute Package Utility (dtexecui.exe).  However, the utility gives me only the SQL Server 2005 SSIS Package but not the SQL Server 2000.  Also, it is stated that I can use a batch file that invokes the dtsrun utility (dtsrun.exe).

Can someone give me steps on how I may create a command line from dtexecui.exe for a SQL Server 2000 DTS package?
Also, a sample of a batch file that invokes the dtsrun.exe which I can paste in the job step?
