Registry of another windows install

NerdsNow asked
is there a way to view/recover/edit the registry of another windows install if I have full access to the drive?
Watch Question

Yes there is. You can use regedit and use the Load Hive option.
Open Regedit, highlight HK Local Machine and select File->Load Hive, then browse to the C:\winodws\system32 folder of the other install and select software (not the .log file).

When  done, make sure you choose File-> Unload Hive.

Good Luck!
