if you have a client, then you can user skype to talk..
This depends on your objective. Are you calling to solicit the sale of your software for use within their firm? Are you looking to be an employee of an American company? Are you looking for an American company to sell your software for you? Or are you looking for help in the creation of your software?

I would deal strictly in physical letters for introduction, and emails beyond that. If they ask to use Skype, then it would be alright to do so. The mode of communication really depends on the purpose of contact.
The VOIP market is competitive

There are many companies, even some Big 5 companies that use VOIP for their asian offices to have communication with their US offices.

You can unlimited calling, and most of the time, have very good connection.

Go for business plans, instead of residential lines, and it looks more professional, too.
Our answers are very widespread in context. Parth48, would you mind expanding on your question a bit? Maybe give us the context of communication that you are looking for? Frequent conversations to America within the company? Or is it business to business? Or business to customer?
