Linux - Monitor IP range (fping)

I am searching a linux command line application that can search a custom IP range and export which hosts respond, DNS name etc.

fping can do the job, but can't present the output as HTML.

Is such an application available?! If the output can somehow be customizable as HTML will be perfect

Thank you

you can easily transform text format to html by awk, eg.:

fping -g 192.168.1.0/24 2>/dev/null | awk 'BEGIN{print "<html><body><table>"}{print "<tr><td>"$1"</td><td>"$2"</td><td>"$3"<td></tr>"}END{print "</table></body></html>"}'  > out.html

Alternitively "nmap" can do what you want and produce xml / html output see:

http://nmap.org/book/man-output.html

Try:

nmap -v -oX /tmp/nmap-scan.xml --webxml -sT 192.168.1.0/24
