Predecessor created 50 page handbook out of 50 separate word documents/files and it’s time to update the book. &nbsp;What's the best way to convert these 50 files to one file? &nbsp;Dragging each from a browser window into a new Word doc only embeds a link to the existing file, not the contents of the file itself. &nbsp;Might not be too bad except I think both a table of contents and in index will then have to be created and maintained manually (neither of which he had). &nbsp;And find and replace won’t work either. &nbsp;And I’m thinking there will be other obstacles that I haven’t even thought of. &nbsp;Any recommendations? &nbsp;Thanks in advance. &nbsp;You gurus are AWESOME!

Creating one Word file out of many Word files

Microsoft Word is a commercial document editing program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It features numerous text-editing tools for creating richly formatted documents, along with tools for the use of macros in Word documents. Word's native file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension. Plugins permitting the Windows versions of Word to read and write formats it does not natively support, such as the OpenDocument format (ODF) are available. Word can import and display images in common bitmap formats such as JPG and GIF. It can also be used to create and display simple line-art.
