Dell Inspiron 1012 - Multimedia Controller Driver

Hi

I just bought a Dell Inpiron 1012 Mini, It came with Windows 7 Starter, so I upgraded it to Windows 7 Home Premium, as the original installation came with a lot of unnecesary software I performed a clean installation an now the laptop runs perfectly. Nonetheless in the Control Panel>System>Device Manager I still have a 'Multimedia Controller' as an unknown device, I've tried all drivers that came in the original CD of Drivers and most of the ones that you can download from the Dell website, any idea what's this Multimedia Controller and where can I get the driver for it?

Thank you.

This could be a variety of things.    The first thing I'd try is go into Device Manager;  highlight the unknown MultiMedia Controller;  right-click;  and select Update Driver.    Let it search online (Windows Update) for the driver -- many times it will find this with no problem.

Be sure the system's fully up-to-date with all Windows Updates before doing this.

Hi Nobus
Very good advise; however the outcome wasn't good. The Vendor was identified as 14E4 which is "Broadcom Corporation" but the device was marked as 1615 which is not listed in the Broadcom devices at pcidatabase.com.

Hi Nobus
Your advice put me on the right lead, I found the driver in the Broadcom website, as Edbedb post it as well it was the Crystal HD Decoder.
Thank you Nobus and Edbedb
you find it also on the dell site..
