Directv and PC problem

Hello experts,
I recently hooked up my DIRECTV to my computer using a very long Ethernet cable.
However if some of you have DIRECTV you will see a progress bar as you fast forward through recorded programs.

Sometimes this annoying bar will freeze on the screen usually when you use the pause button and you have to press the exit buttonTV remote to clear it otherwise it will disappear after a few seconds.

As I'm watching Tennis on my PC via the Ethernet cable from my TV I have ran into the exact same issue accept the keyboard nothing that will work like the exit button on the remote.
I have tried using a combination of several hot key  but nothing works. The
Esc key  will only take you back to the main menu.

Does anyone have an answer to this?

Regards,

Installers are supposed to use a field strength meter to align the dish; but, many are lazy and leave after it seems to be working.  You can check the signal strength somewhere in the menus on your box: http://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1696
A marginal satellite alignment will cause exactly what your problem is.
After that, there are a number of folks griping about defective DVR's: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=directv+dvr+freezing&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=CYtymEb0UTIHAEYuugATnu7y-CgAAAKoEBU_QOcp_&fp=2e8dde7ab8d4761e
An interruption in a network stream (ethernet) will confuse the heck out of Windows.  Fix the box and you'll fix the PC.

ASKER

Maybe I didn't do a good job at explaining my problem and for that I apologize.
I will rephrase. For example if I want to see a freeze what I’m watching on the TV I can hit the pause button on the TV remote and the progress bar will also appear as it should.
I can get rid of it one of two ways. I can hit the play button and it will be gone in 3 or 4 seconds or I can press the exit button which will clear the progress bar and leave the screen in the pause mode.
This is what I want. To see the image I have paused without the progress bar in the way except on my computer monitor.
So I figure there must be a key that will act the same way that the “exit” button on the TV remote so I can clear the progress bar off the screen.
 I hope this helps.

Thank you.
