How to Let WSUS to download again the failed update?
Dear Sir,
I have noticed that Windows XP SP3 is not installed automatically through WSUS on my XP machines.
I checked my WSUS server and I found out the following error:
"The files for this update failed to download. The update can be approved but will not be available to computers until the download is complete. Click Retry Download to start the download again".
How can I solve this issue for that particular update "XP SP3"?
How can I solve in the future If I have a similar error for a different update?

probably best to first run the cleanup function if that don't help stop the service an remove / rename the content folder o the server and start the wsus service. this will redownload all updates

You need to run this command : wsusutil reset
which
Checks that every update metadata row in the database has corresponding update files stored in the file system. If update files are missing or have been corrupted, WSUS downloads the update files again.

I run the following command on WSUS server:
C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools>wsusutil reset
After I run above command, I checked WSUS for the Update (KB936929):
"The Selected update does not support removal."
"The files for this update have not yet been downloaded. The update can be approved but will not be available to computers until the download is complete."
After a while, I checked WSUS again for this particular update, and I still have received the same error for Windows XP Service Pack 3 update:
"The files for this update failed to download. The update can be approved but will not be available to computers until the download is complete. Click Retry Download to start the download again".
P.S: I already approved this update (KB936929) long time ago.
Internet is available on the server, and all daily synchronizations are successed!
Please any chance to solve this issue?
