Cant connect to internet
I cant connect to IE 7 or 8 or Firefox. I have ran a virus scan, malwarebytes and superantispyware and found nothing. When I do a diagnose connection problem First I get "Windows cannot troubleshoot your network connection because an error as occured." Please try again. When I click view last diagnostic log I get a lot of stuff but the only thing that is in red highlight is HTTP, HTTPS, FTP connectivity. Then ...warn...HTTP Error 12029connecting to microsoft.com: A connection to the server could not be establesed with several other error messages that are simular except different sites. then at the end of that it says..."error...Could not make an HTTP connection" etc.
I have uninstalled IE8 with no luck running IE 7.
Any answer as to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

in the command prompt launch ipconfig command.
you will see the ip address on of gateway (i hope you have)
the launch ping command over the gateway ip address (ie ping yourgatewayip) then hit enter.
if you see message like this:
Reply from yourgatewayip: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from yourgatewayip: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from yourgatewayip: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=128
Reply from yourgatewayip: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=128
then check your router if it has connection to Internet by logging into router admin console then check if you get public IP from your ISP, (check your logins also/ provided by your ISP, call them if necessary)
check your proxy settings in IE that is in: Tools> Internet Options> Connections> LAN Settings> Proxy Server.
Check your machine DNS settings as well.

The internet connection seems to be too slow, as you can notice there are packet loss in the ping query.
Pls check the bandwidth from your ISP.

uninstall and install fresh one? What are you asking me to uninstall?
As Ping result shown:
Packets: sent =4 received=0 Lost =4 <100% loss>
There is a 10% loss, net connection is not reliable

This laptop that I am working on had the same problem at her house that it is having at mine. Internet speed is not an issue.
go to command port, and type
telnet google.com 80
If there is a internet connection available, then it will show a blank command window after getting connected, else connection error.
If connected, then staying on the command prompt, press cntrl+C, you will notice some text being printed, that means your net connection is active and reliable.
