Word 2002/xp: Error Message: "Run-time error '4248'; 'This command is not available because no document is open.'"

When I open a Word document from the explorer, I get this Error Message:

"Run-time error '4248'; 'This command is not available because no document is open.'"
When pressing OK, Word i closing.

But if I frist open Word with a new document, and then open a document from the explorer, it is OK

Please note that the above article assumes that you are familiar with the programming language, and with the tools that are being used to both create, and to debug procedures.

The sample script shows you how to change the value of the 'Title' field in the 'Properties' dialog box.

I'm not familiar enough with the programming to be able to use the solution.

Regret i cannot help either with the programming;  so if there's no help forthcoming from others here, may i suggest you click the "Request Attention" strip to reach a Moderator who will probably include your question in an additional Topic Area ('programming' for example).

It has been decided to upgrade til Office 2010, so the problem is no issue anymore.
