Hi

We have installed exchange 2010 on a new server, after prepare domain and old exchange 2003 server

Under installation, we selected to old exchange 2003 for mail flow

We can see that routing between the old exchange 2003 and 2010 is the both the old system manage for 2003 and on the new exchange 2010 server

We have add replication of following public folders, on the exchange 2003 : Offline address book and OAB version 2, 3a, 4 and schedule free busy

We get follow error in the Exchange 2010 public folder management console, when I try to open system public folders

Unexpected error (0x79E8AAF2) while executing command 'get-publicfodler -getchildren -idenity '\NON_IPM_SUBTREE' -server exchange2010.domain.local

When I try to get-publicfolder from Exchange management shell, I get following error :

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-PublicFolder
WARNING: An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Object reference not set to an instance
 of an object.

Hi,

I've already tried that, without any luck. The public folder inherit permissions, but i still get the same error.

And Yes, because i only have One database, the PF is default for mail database.

What to do?

I actually get the following event:
Maybe those problems are connected?

The store driver couldn't deliver the public folder replication message "Status Request (Exchangeserver@Domain.com)" because the following error occurred: The Active Directory user wasn't found..

It's event 1020.

Hi,

This says that I have to delete the emty "servers" container. But that containter is'nt emty, thats where my Exchange 2003 enviroment is.
So that's not an option.
Any other suggestions?

Solved the problem my self!

It's an permission issue. If the Server does'nt inherit permissions correctly, all these errors will accour.

So check that all about public folder inherit permissions, and it should work.

Thanks.

Gupnit..

You said that public folder should inherit permissions.
I figured out that you need to set "inherit permissions" on the server, before it works.

ps. Not getting any points now...

@Focon - My dear friend I have never been running after points. Neither EE pays me on collecting points nor anyone else :-) ! Infact during my entire period of EE contribution I have asked askers to give points to someone else many a times :-) !

We should'nt argue.
Gratefull for your help, and it indeed helped me figure out where the problem may be.
But i stil had to Google it for my selves, before i got it working. The server should inherit permissions in system manager, and not just "public folders"

But still thanks :)

My Apologies to everyone involved....! I try not look at closed questions and who is being awarded points, but I was in a bad mood that day and somehow reacted !
Guys, points can be removed !
