Outlook 2003 Can't type numbers in the subject line

It must be something in my settings (it is not my num lock key), but when I compose a new email in Outlook 2003 - when I type a number in the subject line, it doesn't appear. I actually have to move my cursor to the body area, and type the number there, and then copy and paste it into the subject line. I can type any of the letters, I can type a + but I cannot type a %. Very strange. Can you suggest a fix? Other than that I like all of the current settings in my software.

This appears to solve the issue. I didn't know that Outlook had that kind of option (like MS Access does). Thanks so much.
