SSRS 2008 Export to Any Format Fails IE 6

Hi All - Have been working this issue on and off for a few weeks, including a significant amount of searching with no luck.

In short, when using SSRS on a company intranet, any IE 6 user who tries to export a report to Excel or any other format receives the following message after about 2 min:

Internet Explorer cannot download X.X from X.server
The connection with the server was reset.

This does not occur for IE 8 users so it must be some way in which IE 6 processes the HTTP request. The SSRS logs show that the report was sucessfully rendered, it is just never makes it through IE 6 into a file.

This MS KB article doesn't solve the problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958479/en-us

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There have been quite a few reported issues with IE6... And vary from creating custom headers all the way through to the KB you posted.

Will have a think and look around for a "fix". in the meantime, have you also seen : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q316431
