SharePoint won't finish upgrade

Error: Application pool 'SharePoint - 80' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application.
Error: Configuration Failed ; An exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.Upgrade.SPUpgradeException was thrown...

SharePoint stopped working after Windows Updates . KB967642, KB983444 and MIcrosoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) were auto installed this past weekend.

Suggestions?

Thanks, tried both links, does not seem to be problem.

This Error is in my DNS Event Log.

The zone ss4s.local is configured to accept updates but the A record for the primary server in the zone's SOA record is not available on this DNS server. This may indicate a configuration problem. If the address of the primary server for the zone cannot  be resolved DNS clients will be unable to locate a server to accept updates for this zone. This will cause DNS clients to be unable to perform DNS updates.
last one by me i think :-(

It looks like an updated started and then encountered this error.
