WinMerge Filter: ignore email address differences
Good day everyone,
I am comparing code that makes up two very similar websites. I am using WinMerge 2.12 to accomplish this. There are minor differences such as email addresses or names in footers etc.
What I cannot seem to figure out is how to tell WinMerge's filter how to ignore email addresses in two documents. Is there anyone who may have a suggestion?
Document 1: email is xyz@abc.com
Document 2: email is qrs@def.com
Equally, there can be different text only such as:
Document 1: "Special Message from Company a/a" (note the slash in the name)
Document 2: "Special Message from Company XYZ"
Thank you to anyone who has a recommendation.
Richard

Hello fibo, thank you for taking the time to write and your ideas. I will try it but I am looking for a solution directly for Winmerge and in my case it really makes sense to hide the differences. I am doing repetitive work and constantly have to hide files that don't matter so I can get a good overall picture of other files that need to be worked on.
I will try it but hope that someone who is familiar with Winmerge may be able to add a comment.
Cheers,
Richard
